Travelling in Singapore
It has been 1.5 months since I have bought my first scooter. The reason being, the long travelling time from Tuas to and fro home. Incidentally, I can now travel better to go for any event or location without much hassle.
Unless! Of course if it rains..
I landed myself with the Piaggio X9 scooter. They are also the makers of your Vespa and Gilera series of scooters. The decision is pretty much a tricky one, after all there are more affordable bikes around. For example:
Kup Kia (Honda Wave 125 is a common one)
Honda Phantom
Piaggio Vespa
All of these can be had at below $2000, though Vespas might be even more cheaper because of their old age. You might not want to rely on the Vespa during rainy weather, thats for sure. The choices have economical mileage and are easily maintained by the wealth and affordability of the spare parts. You can trust the Japanese Honda brand, their parts are cheap and easy to source for!! LOL (It is a good thing, really)
I went for the X9 instead, a big scooter with the weight of a Honda Super4, another widely used bike in the 400cc series. The X9 is heavy, no doubt about it, but holds the advantage of storage space. With a spacious area of about 50L (it’s a guess..), you can put much more than just two helmets, like a small little boot of your own. All the more convenient..
Mine is white, here is a black one for your viewing.
